Our Greatest Adventure: Week 25

3/19/2013

How far along: 25 weeks

How big is baby: About the size of a rutabaga or a head of cauliflower. Reese is continually fattening up and now growing hair. If we had a sono, we might even be able to see it. She also is working on her equilibrium. She knows which was is up and which was is down. This is strange to me, what if I’m sleeping and she’s on her head? That’s weird.

Total weight gain: 14 lbs

Maternity clothes: This week I finally got the maternity clothes my sister pulled for me. I’m guessing most of them are actually from our SIL, but I have a lot of new shirts! I’m excited to have new things to look through for work. The only problem I’m having is that a lot of them are smalls, and sometimes they don’t fit quite right.

Sleep: Sleep was good this week. No real big update.

Best moment of the week:

1) I had a doctor’s appointment on Thursday. When I got there, the nurse surprised me by telling me it was time do to the one hour glucose test. Ohhh, I've heard all about it and how terrible the orange drink tastes, but I hadn't adequately prepared myself cause I was thinking it wouldn't be until the next appointment. Wrong. So, I stated my case that I've never liked oranges, orange juice, or orange flavoring and asked if there were any other flavors. The nurse thought there might be a red one, so she called down to the lab, but they didn't have any. Then I hear, is lime ok? YES! I drank the sugary drink which tasted mostly like sprite then went back up to see Dr. B. They listened to Reese’s heartbeat which was at 156 bpm, then Dr B measured me and said I measuring big. :( He seemed semi concerned and scheduled a sono for next time, which makes me worry a bit. There are lots of reasons I could be measuring big, I just hope Reese is healthy. They haven’t called me about my glucose test yet, so I guess I won’t hear anything until my next appointment.

2) On Friday, Husbandy watched Aidan and my sister and I went to Stations of the Cross. This was the first time for me to go this year and it was nice being able to reflect on the Cross with my sister.

3) On Saturday Husbandy and I made the drive to Abilene to visit our friends Kelly, Michael, and their daughter Annabelle. It was so great getting to see them and their new house. For lunch they took us to a place called Wholly Burgers. Their buns were a little sweet for me, but other than that the burger was real good. The rest of the day we just spent hanging out and talking before it was time for us to head back. Of course, we did have to have dinner a Rosa’s before leaving. :)

4) Technically, this happened in week 26, but I wanted to write about it now. On Tuesday I came home from work and went to check the mail and noticed a package on our porch. I was super confused cause I had not ordered anything and didn't think Husbandy had either. When I opened it I noticed it was lots of fun monkey themed baby things from our registry from the friends we made on our New Zealand trip! I really was overwhelmed with so much joy, just out of the thoughtfulness. Husbandy was also very excited about it when I showed him. If anyone else wants to surprise us, we have a registry at Babies R Us and Amazon. :P

Food cravings: I really wanted a burger this week, and then got one in Abilene. YUM

Food aversions: No changes; garlic is still definitely the most prominent though. I had some this week, and regretted it.

Symptoms: I had pretty bad heartburn one day this week. I even busted out the Tums, which I hadn't had to do thus far. I am still very itchy all over, I wish this would stop. I can also see that I have a bit more road rage than I would normally. Maybe drivers have just been more aggressive lately though. ;)

Movement: Some days Reese moves all the time and others I don’t feel her as much. I still get slightly worried when I don’t feel her, so I tell Husbandy and his response is always “I’m sure she’s fine.” I do a little bit of poking at her to see if she’ll respond and most of the time I do get at least a little kick. One night while watching TV she was very active and Husbandy got to feel her a lot. That was fun. I don’t think anyone else has felt her though. She’s apparently a little shy, but hopefully soon!

Gender: Girl

What I’m looking forward to: Next week is Easter and a four day work week! That sounds nice.

What I miss: Liking the taste of coffee. It always smells so good, but it never tastes as good as I want it to. So, I end up drinking about three sips and throwing it away.

Next appt: April 11th

Workout/Fitness: Pretty much the same as last week. Perhaps this is why I’m so big...

Our Greatest Adventure: Week 24

3/12/13

How far along: 24 weeks

How big is baby: About the size of a cantaloupe. Reese’s skin is starting to look less translucent and more opaque. Her skin is also looking more pink due to newly formed capillaries. Her lungs are developing "branches" of the respiratory tree as well as cells that produce surfactant, a substance that will help his air sacs inflate once she hits the outside world.

Total weight gain: About 12 lbs

Maternity clothes: Nothing new here

Sleep: This week I got a small pillow off of the guest bed which I use as back support. I think it’s working pretty well; it also helps me to not roll all the way over on my back in the middle of the night. Other than still getting up to go to the bathroom, sleep has been pretty good.

Best moment of the week:

1) Husbandy and I went to dinner with friends that we haven’t seen in a while. They are actually also pregnant with a girl and due just three day before we are! It was fun getting to talk about our pregnancies (even though she said she had zero nausea…I’m just hoping since every pregnancy is different that I’ll be able to say the same next time) and hearing the guys complain about the perils of pregnant wives. We also went to dinner with good friends for fish on Friday. Afterwards we went and played games at their house. It’s always nice seeing them and getting to hang out.

2) Husbandy and I looked at daycares this week. I wouldn't say this was my favorite part of the week, but it was something that happened. We first looked at a Primrose close to my work. It was nice and the curriculum was extensive. Then, on Sunday we visited an in-home daycare right by our house. We really liked the lady and called all the references she gave us, who of course had good things to say. She happened to know she’s going to have a spot opening in October (which is rare) so we ended up putting down a deposit. While I’m happy to have this done, I can’t say I've completely stopped looking. You never know…

3) Hanging out with my niece and nephew. Sunday night all of the Vrla kids hung out at Bec’s house and it was a lot of fun. How crazy will it be when we add another little girl to the mix in July (maybe June)!

4) Reese’s wardrobe grew by leaps and bounds this week. Mimi Wagner and Aunt Amanda sent a couple of onesies and some bows and the SIL brought two boxes of Brooklyn’s old clothes. Can’t wait to pull them all out and take a look.

5) We went to the Stars game on Monday! Not only did we go with lots of fun people, but the Stars won!

Food cravings: I really liked my Campisis’ salad. I also liked the Pad Thai I had on Saturday, I’m not sure if Reese did or not though cause it made her squirm a lot.

Food aversions: Oh, geez….garlic, sweets, and milk. I am not creative and eat cereal every morning, but I don’t think I’m a fan of milk…this is a problem. I made Husbandy get a different brand this week to see if it helps things…so we’ll see.

Symptoms: My belly is huge, that is a symptom, right? Some back pain; also, when I’m walking, I sometimes get a sharp pain in my lower back on the right side. Still emotional. After paying our daycare deposit I got in the car and cried….later that night I cried a lot more. I feel like this was justified though. Not exactly what I thought I would have to be doing…

Movement: Lots and lots. At Mass on Sunday, Reese was moving a lot! I told Husbandy to watch my stomach and bam! Out popped my belly. He then tried to feel her, but of course she was done for the time being. Silly girl. He did feel her later in the week though.

Gender: Girl :)

What I’m looking forward to: Our appointment! I’m excited to get a checkup even though there is no sono. I have some general questions I want to ask too.

What I miss: Not falling asleep in the middle of the day at work (I've never actually fallen asleep), sometimes I’m just soooo tired!

Next appt: Next week! March 21

Workout/Fitness: Boo. Husbandy and I were so busy this week, so I wasn’t very good with working out. Just random squats and lunges.

Our Greatest Adventure: Week 23

3/5/2013

How far along: 23 weeks

How big is baby: About the size of a mango or grapefruit (I feel like she got smaller from last week’s fruit). Reese is about a foot long and gaining weight, but still has a while to before she fully fills out. The blood vessels in her lungs are developing to prepare for breathing and she is also getting better at hearing. She is listening to my heartbeat, voices, and even loud noises like my hair dryer or barking dogs.

Total weight gain: about 11-12 lbs??

Maternity clothes: No change here.

Sleep: I had a little bit of a harder time with sleep this week. I’m noticing that my back/left side hurts when I wake up in the morning. I think it’s because I don’t really have a lot of support back there. So, recently, I’ve been putting a pillow behind my back. Right now it’s a pretty small pillow, and I don’t think it’s doing a proper job, so I may have to trade for a bigger one. With our queen size bed, me getting larger, a pillow for support in my front, and a pillow for back support….I’m not sure there is enough room for Husbandy. :P We’ll have to see how this goes.

Best moment of the week: On Tuesday we celebrated Husbandy’s real 30th birthday. We went to Texas de Brazil for a yummy dinner. I looove their lobster bisque, so I was real excited about it and had it for an appetizer and dessert. Eating there while pregnant makes for a little bit of a different experience. Typically the meat they bring around is rare – medium, but I didn't feel comfortable eating that, so I had to ask for something a little more well done. More than once they had to go back to the back for us crazies that ask for these sorts of things. Thankfully, the seasonings were so delicious, it wasn't too bad of a trade.

Food cravings: Nope. No big cravings this week.

Food aversions: I take back what I said last week about my aversions. This week it seemed like EVERYTHING left a bad taste in my mouth. This was really annoying. I never could pin point what was doing it…my guesses were milk, fruit, meat, cheese, sweets…who knows.

Symptoms: Dry skin (I think this has something to do with pregnancy), back pain, emotional.

Movement: Oh yes. Husbandy’s been able to feel Reese some more this week which is always fun. When I’m at home and feel a lot of movement I like to lift my shirt and watch my belly. A lot of the times the movement ends then, maybe it’s because of the temperature change, or maybe Reese is already showing me who is in control. :) Either way, when I do get to see the movement it makes me smile. There have been lots of times the movements make me giggle cause they kind of tickle and other times they surprise me so much I’ll say something loudly like “Oooh wow, that was a strong one” or “Well, hello.” No matter my reaction, I love them all.

Gender: GIRL

What I’m looking forward to: We have an appointment next week! I don’t think there is a sono, but I do love hearing the heartbeat. Also, this past weekend, Husbandy and I researched some daycares. While I’m not really excited about the fact that we’re going to have to put Reese in a daycare, I am excited to start the process so I can have peace of mind with the place we choose. I am so thankful for all my coworkers that have given me lots of advice when it comes to this.

What I miss: Margaritas and feta cheese

Next appt: March 21st!

Workout/Fitness: I was pretty good with working out this week. I did some squats and lunges, and there were a few nights that I walked on the treadmill.

To our little Reese:

I cannot believe you have been growing and developing inside of me for five months! It’s been a crazy adventure for both daddy and me. Neither one of us knew what to expect or how we would handle our changing world, but I do know we wouldn't trade any of the struggles to not have you with us. There have been days where the struggles and sickness was so great, but those are days of the past and very much surpassed with sweet little kicks. Sometimes these kicks make me laugh cause they tickle and other times they really catch me off guard! But both, remind me of the sweet blessing the Lord has given us. Nothing can compare to the bonding I am getting to have with you right now, sweet girl. I am so thankful for you, Reese. I know you are going to turn daddy and my world upside down and that we are going to experience love like we have never known!

Right now the Lord is forming you into a perfect child of His. You have been fearfully and wonderfully made; sent to us as a blessing that we get to love, care for, and watch grow. Daddy and I could not be more excited.

Sometimes I wonder what you will look like. Will you have blonde hair and blue eyes, like daddy? Will your hair be so straight, that nothing you do will ever get it to curl, like mine? Will you love to play sports, draw, or play musical instruments? Only time will tell these things, but still I sit and wonder.

Every day I pray for you. I pray that you may come to know the Lord and that you will always believe in yourself. Daddy and I will be your biggest cheerleaders, but also know we are here to guide you. Sometimes we may not see eye to eye, but I promise our intentions are always the best for you. We mostly likely have made mistakes we are trying to save you from. Your daddy and your uncles may seem a little overprotective sometimes, but this is also for your own good. Trust me. Sometimes we will embarrass you, but surely it will only be because we want to see your precious smile. I pray that we may always give you everlasting encouragement and never stop loving you with our whole selves. Our love for you flows from our Heavenly Father, whose love is unchanging.

Sweet Reese, I cannot wait to hold you in my arms and watch you grow. I cannot wait to see you have your daddy wrapped around your little finger. Until that day I will continue to pray for you and cherish every precious little movement.

We love you sweet girl,
Mommy and Daddy

Our Greatest Adventure: Week 22

2/26/2013

How far along: 22 weeks

How big is baby: The size of a spaghetti squash or papaya. Baby is looking more and more like a newborn as the eyes and lips are more developed. Tooth buds are developing beneath the gums and Baby is sleeping in cycles. (see movement below)

Total weight gain: I weighed myself on Tuesday and I was actually down a pound and a half from our doctor’s visit. I thought that was kind of strange but I’m not stressing over it.

Maternity clothes: Of course. I need to go to my sister’s. She’s pulled out maternity shirts for me to try. :) The Old Navy gift cards are in, but I haven’t gone yet.

Sleep: No big big changes here. I have noticed I’m up usually just once during the night, sometimes twice.

 Best moment of the week:
1) We all know the best part of the week was the sex reveal party! I wrote an entire post about it, so I won’t go into detail. But, it was by far the best part of the week.

Thank you Aunt Kelly for this picture!
2) My Aunt Carol surprised me with Izze drinks. I was recently introduced to these drinks by one of my friends and they are really good! They also do a good job at keeping my want for a coke to a minimum. They are a carbonated drink, but there is no caffeine or artificial sweetener. They also come in lots of different flavors. So far the blackberry is my favorite, but within the pack my Aunt bought me is pomegranate and grapefruit. I’m really excited about these.

Food cravings: Still nothing too crazy. I am eating snacks every now and then to keep my stomach happy. At this point, I’m afraid that if I don’t eat, I’ll get sick, so I try to eat small snacks mid morning and mid afternoon.

Food aversions: Definitely still garlic, just thinking about it makes me shiver. This does make me sad cause there are a lot of foods with garlic in them and I used to love every one of them! Cheese wasn’t my favorite this week. It left a pretty bad taste in my mouth after eating some pizza and this veggie pie thing my SIL made. Chicken still isn’t 100% on my good side, but I think it’s getting better, same with desserts (though I try to tell myself they won’t taste good).

Symptoms: I’m still getting tired throughout the day and trying to stay away from coffee. I feel like I’m doing pretty well at this. Some mornings I’ll get a small cup at work, but then end up only taking a few sips. Oh, and getting emotional is back. I thought I had reeled it in a bit, but every since we found out we’re having a girl, I’m in tears all the time. Mostly it’s when I’m reading stories about other little kids, see sweet little girls, or talk about Husbandy and Baby.

Movement: Oh yes, I am very accustomed to Baby’s movements! Actually I just love feeling them so much I want to always feel them! I get kind of anxious when I don’t feel anything in a while, guess Baby is sleeping. :D One night I was lying on the couch and would yell “Baby!” and after every time I got a little kick. So, now when I want to feel something I just yell, but I rarely get the same response.

Gender: GIRL GIRL GIRL! Going forward I can replace Baby with Reese! I’m very excited about this.

What I’m looking forward to: Husbandy and I have a lot to do these next few months and I’m getting real excited to start them, especially building the nursery. I’m not crafty at all, so I don’t know how it will turn out, but I’m excited to try to make it cute.

What I miss: Hmm I don’t think I missed anything too much this week, so that’s good!

 Next appt: March 21

Workout/Fitness: Random squats and Saturday was go go go. Actually, that night my feet hurt soooo bad I couldn't move. Perhaps I should have worn shoes with better support.

Our Greatest Adventure: Baby Wagner is a...

Sorry if this is a little long winded, I’m going to try to write out everything so I don’t forget!

It’s finally time I get to let everyone in on a little secret that’s been in the works for a couple months now. As you may know, I wanted to wait to find out the sex of Baby Wagner, but Husbandy was adamant about finding out. Since I didn't see him budging on this decision and we had pretty much agreed we would open an envelope to reveal the sex on our anniversary in May, I decided to throw a surprise sex reveal for Husbandy’s 30th birthday.

As plans developed I started to get so excited about the surprise. Just thinking about seeing Husbandy’s face when he realized what was happening made it seem like the date would never come.

Here is what Husbandy knew: I sent out invitations for Husbandy’s 30th birthday party at the beginning of February. For a few years now he has wanted to play Whirly Ball, but we have never actually done it. Since I knew this was a big year, the big 3-0, I rented out a court for 25 people. After playing Whirly Ball, we wanted to invite everyone to come over for dinner, drinks, and to just hangout. Husbandy also knew I would be leaving Whirly Ball early to come back to the house to start dinner. Whirly Ball is a combination of lacrosse, basketball, and bumper cars. Seeing as, well, I’m pregnant, I knew I wouldn't be playing due to the bumper cars, so I figured this also gave me an excuse to leave early.

Here’s what Husbandy didn't know: In mid-February I sent out emails to family and friends saying: “we are celebrating Husbandy’s 30th birthday on March 2nd. A few friends will be heading to Whirly Ball and then back to the house around 5:30, it's then that Husbandy will find out his birthday party is also a sex reveal!” This is when things started to get exciting and stressful for me. I so badly wanted this to be a surprise so I was constantly worrying about someone accidentally saying something to Husbandy. Not only someone else, but me too! There were so many times I would just about say something and then had to catch myself thinking, wait, he doesn't know that’s happening. Luckily, I conquered pregnancy brain every time!

Leading up to the day I started to prepare the house for lots of guests. Luckily, Husbandy knew people would be coming over to our house, so he helped a lot with cleaning and sprucing up the backyard. I also started to stock up on food. I planned on feeding everyone, which ended up being about 50 people, so I feel like every time I went to the store I bought pasta and pasta sauce. Husbandy knew I was planning on making dinner for what he thought would be about 25 people that night, so it wasn't too unusual that I was buying so much of this stuff. As mentioned before, we had an envelope with a sonogram picture telling us the sex of Baby Wagner hanging on our fridge from our February 21st appointment. At the time I bought the card to put the picture in, I also bought an identical one so when I needed to take the card down later, there would be one to replace it. Lastly, I commissioned a very creative friend of mine to make a cute box to hold pink/blue balloons we would release. I picked this up the week of the reveal and stored it at my sister’s house.

Anyway, here is how the day went down:

I woke up decently early that morning because I had a lot to get done. First thing on the agenda was to switch out the card on the fridge with the sono picture with the extra one before Husbandy woke up. The next was to make banana bread. I’m not sure why I wanted to do this so badly, but you’re allowed to bring food to Whirly Ball, so I wanted to provide some type of snack. Seeing as banana bread sounded really good to me, I decided on it pretty quickly. I’m glad I started early, because breads take a while to bake. While that was cooking, we finished the clean-up, took showers, and got ready.

The only thing in the back of my mind the entire morning was that I needed to get the reveal box to Party City that morning to have it filled with balloons. With the bread taking longer than I thought it would and Husbandy running to Home Depot, my time was running short. Finally, around 1:00, I got out of the house to go to my sister’s and pick up the box. The box actually didn't have a bottom, so we decided to put the balloons in black trash bags, and figure out how to get them in the box later. I rushed to Party City, told them what was going on, and gave them the card. I hung out in the back of the store for what seemed like a very long time before I stopped an employee and asked if the coast was clear. I then headed back to my sister’s to drop off the balloons. It was so weird knowing I had either blue or pink balloons right behind me!

The whole trip took about an hour, so by the time I got back to the house it was time to leave for Whirly Ball. I knew Husbandy had to know something was up, as I just spent the last hour doing a mystery errand and then came back to the house with nothing! Haha. I just hoped he figured it had something to do with his birthday. Anyway, we got everything packed up and headed out. Let the fun begin!

I got to watch a few games of Whirly Ball before I had to leave. It was so fun watching everyone play. Lucky for the people that were playing, some who we thought would be at Whirly Ball, didn't show, so only two people had to sit out each game. That’s a lot of Whirly Ball in two hours!

Around 3:45 I left to meet my mom, sister, Aidan :), and Aunt Carol at the house to get everything set up, start cooking, and let guests in as they arrived. I am so so so thankful for these three people cause they brought drinks, salad, bread, and cheesecake, helped everything run smoothly and kept me from getting too overwhelmed. One thing we needed to be sure to do was stuff the box with the balloons. My sister was nice enough to volunteer, knowing she would probably find out the sex before the big reveal. My mom ended up helping, but she said they tried to do everything with their eyes shut to keep the sex a surprise. I’m not 100% sure how successful they were, but they certainly did not let me know what they did or didn't see.

Friends and family started to arrive at 5:00. Husbandy called to let me know they were leaving at about 5:10. Yea, yea, yea!! I, however, failed to mention to everyone Husbandy was on his way, so when he walked in no one was really ready. Hahaha People just randomly yelled surprise! Either way, Husbandy’s face was pretty confused. He came up to me, and I took the envelope off the fridge and handed it to him. He was a little hesitant cause he figured this would have the sono picture in it, and didn't really want to open it without everyone knowing..but I convinced him it was ok. Here is what the card said:

After waiting a little while to let people get to the house, we had the big reveal! I had everyone who thought we were having a boy stand on one side of the yard and everyone who thought we were having a girl stand on the other. The whole point of this was to take a picture, but then I forgot to actually do that. Maybe someone else got one?! I was definitely caught up in the moment and too excited to think about practical things. Luckily, a few other people did think to take a video. And here it is!!

A girl, a girl, we are having a sweet baby girl! All along, I've just had some feeling we were having a girl. I've had two dreams about the sex of our Baby, and in both it was a girl. Also, coming up with a girl’s name was so easy for us; we've known it for a while. We actually still don’t have a boys named picked out. This week we finally got it narrowed down to four we both like, but since we had such a long time before we would actually know the sex, Husbandy wasn't interested in rushing the decision, no matter how much I brought it up. Now we know it doesn't even matter (this time around). We are now also able to pray for our precious baby girl, Reese Annalee Wagner, by name. We ask that you do the same!

The rest of the night was filled with dinner, dessert, and fun. My sister did give Husbandy my favorite of all his birthday gifts….I of course cried when I saw it:

Guests

Aunt Rebecca's present!

Later that night, Nancy told Brooklyn there is a baby in my tummy and her name is Reese. It was so sweet, when asked where Reese is she would pat my stomach. Reese actually sounds a lot like Brooklyn’s dog’s name Ace…so when she says Ace it kind of sounds like Reese. Very cute. Reese is a very lucky girl cause I’m sure she’ll get lots of hand me downs from Brooklyn as she was also born in July, and Aidan will be her protector as they will most likely be in the same grade!

Husbandy and I were both sad his side of the family couldn't be in Texas for the reveal. On Sunday we sent his parents and sister the video of it though. Mrs Wagner was sure we were having a boy, but very excited about another granddaughter, the same goes for Mr Wagner. Amanda was also very excited about having another niece. Won’t it be sweet to watch Evalyn and Reese play together?

I just can’t believe we now know what we are having. I don’t think it’s all sunk in yet. I actually do feel like I can connect with Reese more now. I think this was ultimately a great decision for Husbandy and I. On Sunday, I couldn't help by cry every time I saw a little girl. And when we saw one give a great big hug to her grandpa in Mass, game over.
What we woke up to the next day
There it is, that’s the story! Hopefully, I didn't leave out any details, so I can share how it all happened with Reese one day. I love you, precious little girl!

Our Greatest Adventure: Week 21

2/19/2012

How far along: 21 weeks!

How big is baby: Baby is the size of a pomegranate and the length of a carrot. I’m not totally sure how those correlate. :) This week Baby's eyebrows and lids are present. As Baby’s digestive system prepares for the outside world, s/he is producing meconium. Also, interesting fact – if Baby Wagner is a girl she’s already got her lifetime supply of eggs in her womb. WOW!

Total weight gain: At our appointment, I was at about 10-11 lbs :-O

Maternity clothes: Yep, still wearing those. Hopefully I’ll be getting some new (to me) shirts now that Aidan is here. I also used some credit card points and got Husbandy and I gift cards to Old Navy. I’ll be treating myself once they get here.

Sleep: I had some rough nights this week where I woke up to go to the bathroom and then couldn't go back to sleep. My mind was RACING, I hate when that happens. I've also notice my left leg gets sore in the middle of the night because I’m constantly sleeping on that side. So, that’s pretty annoying.

Best moment of the week:

1) As mentioned in my previous blog, our nephew was born the day I turned 21 weeks. I already wrote about that, but it’s been so fun getting to hold him. :) He is so cute.

2) We had a Dr appointment!! Husbandy and I were so excited to get to see Baby again. We told the sono tech we (I) didn't want to find out if we are having a boy or girl that day, so she did all her measurements around the head, neck, upper body area, and then told us to look away. We also, found out Baby’s heartbeat is a healthy 153 bpm....which was about 5 bpm less than when we originally heard it. Dr B was a little surprised at how much weight I had gained since my last appointment, which was depressing. But, after I told him I had noticed swelling, he checked my leg, confirmed I was indeed swelling, and thought this was part of the reason. He didn't seem too concerned about the weight, so I guess that’s good? Either way, I’m very happy Baby is looking healthy.

Look at that sweet face :)

Baby feet!

Flashing us a smile
I count five fingers!

Food cravings: No big cravings.

Food aversions: Same. Sometimes I forget about my aversions. This week, I ordered a chicken sandwich and Bec was like, oh, do you like chicken now?! I then had to tell her I forgot I didn't like chicken when I ordered it. Oops! Luckily, the sandwich was pretty good.

Symptoms: I've always had problems with acne, but since I've been pregnant I've been surprised how clear my skin has been. Unfortunately, this week it made its way back. Not too bad, but I was sad to see it. I had back pain this week. I don’t think it really had anything to do with pregnancy, but I also can’t figure out if I had/have a kidney stone or if I pulled something. As mentioned above, I've been swelling. Sometimes I look at my feet and just laugh cause they look ridiculous.

Movement: Oh yes! Sometimes Baby starts to go crazy in there. Other times, I don’t feel him/her for a while. I of course prefer the first. :) Husbandy has yet to feel Baby, I don’t think he's patient enough.

Gender: At this point the sono tech and Dr B know, but we don’t! Even though Husandy keeps telling me, “I know, I just know.”

What I’m looking forward to: We are celebrating Husbandy’s 30th birthday this weekend! We've rented a Whirly Ball court, so it should be lots of fun. I probably won’t be participating seeing as bumper cars aren't really my cup of tea at the moment.

What I miss: Not making strange noises when trying to get up. I feel like it helps with the lack of abdominal muscles.

Next appt: March 21st (that seems so far)

Workout/Fitness: Hmm I didn't do big workouts this week. Husbandy and I did do lots of house work on Sunday, and one night I did some random squats. Certainly not enough to call it a work out, though. :-/

Our Greatest Adventure: Week 20!!

2/12/2013

How far along: 20 weeks! I can’t believe we are half way there!!

How big is baby: The length of a banana, I've also seen the size of a cantalope. Baby is swallowing more these days, which is good practice for the digestive system.

Total weight gain: I actually weighed myself this past week and I’m right around 10lbs. What frightens me is that throughout the 2nd trimester I’m supposed to gain an average of 1 lb a week. That’s a little weird to think about.

Maternity clothes: I don’t really understand this question anymore. Yes, I’m wearing them…I don’t think that’s going to change for a while. :)

Sleep: Sleep is as good as I can expect right now. I’m getting up to go to the bathroom of course, but I can fall back asleep pretty easily. I think I’ve also gotten past the needing to eat early in the morning. Baby let me sleep until 10:00 this past Saturday (which was wonderful); when I got up I was for sure hungry, but not so hungry that I got sick. I think that’s a win.

Best moment of the week: This technically happened during my 21st week, but I don’t really care. How can I not write about this?!?! MY NEPHEW IS HHHEEERREE! I’m going to let Becca tell her story if she decides to do so, but from my point of view it was a super fast labor. Husbandy and I got to the hospital Tuesday (2/19/13) morning around 6:20am, then got to see Becca, Jason, and precious Aidan. Holding him was definitely my favorite part of the week. I’m so happy he is here and I’m so happy things went well for Bec. Having him here makes me that much more excited and ready for Baby Wagner. Though, I would really like for him/her to stay in for at least 17 more weeks. :)

My first nephew, Aidan!!!

Food cravings: This week I really wanted pizza, but not just any pizza….Papa John’s pizza. I honestly haven’t had Papa John’s in years, but it was really good. Even Husbandy thought it was tasty.

Food aversions: Still pretty much the same, garli
c, sweets, and chicken.

Symptoms: I have some mild cramping sometimes. I’ll look down at my belly and I think I can feel it growing. I like to look back at how my sister was feeling during the same week of her pregnancy and she mentioned how much she was burping. I’m doing the same! I’ve read that it is something that happens during a pregnancy, but please excuse me if you happen to be near me. :P Also, I can tell I’m a little more moody sometimes.

Fun story…I was on my way home for work, driving on a pretty narrow two lane road. There was a lady running on my side of the road towards me and I figured she would move onto the curb/sidewalk. Well, she didn’t and I didn’t move either (don’t worry, I still had plenty of time if I needed to)…well then she puts her arms out and stares at me like “Hello??! Can’t you see I’m here” Well, yes, I can lady, but you know what else I see…. A sidewalk right by you on one side of the street and a beautiful running/biking trail that the city of Richardson was nice enough to build on the other! I also see this road they built for cars, like me. After moving over, passing her, and signaling to the sidewalk, I thought maybe I was being unreasonable. But then I asked Husbandy and my sister if they move for cars when they are running in the street. They said yes. So HA! They also said they use the running trail. Makes sense to me!!

Movement: Love love love that I can feel movements daily now. I’m still waiting for the moment Husbandy is lucky enough to feel them though. There was one time I thought I felt a steady stream of kicks, so I told Husbandy to quickly put his hand on my belly, but then Baby decided that was enough moving around. :(

Gender: Baby is definitely either a boy or girl, but we don’t know!

What I’m looking forward to: We have a sonogram at our next appointment! We're going to have to be careful at it cause we (ok, I) really don’t want to find out the sex at the appointment. After talking about it, we're under agreement finding out on our anniversary sounds like a good compromise. I know the sono tech will have experienced this before, so maybe she has a routine down where she takes a look, but then we get to see Baby’s upper half, heartbeat, and some movement. I’m going to have to make sure Husbandy doesn’t take sneak peak. :P

What I miss: Humus. That humus is still in the fridge at work, someone needs to eat it!

Next appt: February 21st! So close!!

Workout/Fitness: This weekend was so beautiful Husbandy and I had to get outside. We went for walks and did some straightening around the house. Still no signs of an actual nursery though.
