Thursday night we went to Santa's Village in Richardson. As you can see we all had a great time!
Reese was very nervous about the people dressed up like holiday characters (see the bear in the background) and they were everywhere. She also really wanted popcorn. Poor girl.

It might have taken us half the month, but we finally got Christmas lights up! My dad also got us a JOY sign, so now we're looking very festive. Also, she may be wearing pajama pants, but Reese looks about 7 in this picture.
Cutting down a Christmas tree was one of my favorite things growing up, so I'm determined to do it yearly with my family as well! We go with our cousins and make it a really fun day together.
We found our tree and Reese found hers!
We always go to Walls Family Farm in Terrell. It's a bit of a drive, but so worth it!

After some lunch and a nap we went over to Reese's friend from school's house. We had some dinner and built gingerbread houses. We had lots of fun!

Monday night we put up our Christmas tree and Reese put on our first ornament. It just so happened to be one she made last year at school.
Reese loves Christmas lights so knew her reaction to having them in her very house we be priceless. It's a good thing we got this on video.....

Reese insisted putting on her onesie PJs. They are awfully cute, but they lasted about as long as I thought they would (5 minutes).

Remember the house the had crazy blow up characters at Halloween? Well, they also go all out for Christmas. This is Reese's favorite.

Reese stayed home from school with strep and daddy built her a castle! She is on lucky girl.
She also learned about how much fun popping bubble wrap is...
and how much she loves walking in Daddy's shoes.

Husbandy and I were supposed to go to dinner with some girls from work, but the one hosting ended up getting sick. Since we already had a babysitter, and a gift card to the movies, we made it a date night!
Reading one of her favorite books, The Berenstain Bears. Her favorite character must be Honey Bear (the Baby) because she seems to say her name a lot. Maybe she can relate the most with her??

Reese really likes doing the dishes. It makes a huge mess, but you got to start them young!
Day 338
Husbandy and I took a half day on Friday and drove down to Houston for Husbandy's Christmas party (they have a bigger office down there, so the Dallas peeps always have to drive). I wish we had a better picture, but we got all dressed up and partied the night away. Well, at least until we decided we needed to capitalize on our sleeping situation (no Reese to wake us up at 6!). It was fun to get away for a night.
Day 339
I caught Reese reading in her chair one morning. She was actually looking at her letters on the wall and singing the ABCs. She later noticed that the monitor had moved and ran into our room going, "Mama, come, the monitor!" She was a little freaked out that it wasn't facing down toward her bed, so I brought in the screen with me and showed her how I can move the camera. She then said, "The monitor's looking at me, that's silly." She still talks about the monitor looking at her.
I decided to do a little craft with the kids the Sunday before Thanksgiving. I bought some paper and paint and we made little turkeys!
Reese decided that after doing it a couple times with mommy, she had it figured out and did it by herself. It was then that I was very glad I bought washable paint!
It's really hard to explain to two year olds what being thankful means. You want to use words like grateful, but they also don't know that word. So we just explained that it's something that makes you really really happy. Here are their answers. I asked Reese three times throughout the day and every time this was her answer...I think it helped that we had them for breakfast. :-)
Day 327
I had a Dr appointment and found this sweet girl's picture in the exam room.
Day 328
Zilla taught Reese how much fun covering up your parents with every blanket in the house is, so this is her new favorite game. It's also one of my favorites cause I can take a short nap while playing!
Day 329
It's a good thing I saw this before I was looking for these shoes in a rush one morning....
This is our second year in a row to go see ICE at the Gaylord with some of our friends. This year we decided to go the night before Thanksgiving and that was a mistake. It was soooo crowded. Luckily our tickets were somewhat early, but by the time we got out the line was so long that I'm sure those people had a 5+ hour wait ahead of them, which is not worth it. We waited in line for about an hour and a half and it was barely worth the wait.
All bundled up. This was also an issue because you get all your gear one and the parka, but then still have a 30 minute wait...by that time Reese was definitely read to take her jacket off even though we were about to be in 9 degree rooms.
Annnnd we're in!
The slide was of course Reese's favorite part.

Day 330
Thanksgiving! And look, I got Reese in BOTH her turkey shirts. Husbandy and I ended up borrowing turkey trot shirts from some neighbors, so we all our turkeys on all day.
Eating with her cousins. Zilla and Panini were definitely missed!
Day 331
Husbandy bought a much needed shed for our backyard on black Friday. Since it rained all Thanksgiving weekend he started to build it in the garage with his little helper.
Day 332
Making breakfast on Saturday morning!
After breakfast, Husbandy was back at it. This time he was ready to move the shed to the backyard, but it was 40 degrees and raining. That doesn't stop him though!
Reese and I stayed warm inside and did crafts.
That night we went to watch the Aggies play and Reese had so much fun with Kate! These two get along really well and I love watching them play.
