No one was leaving dinner on Sunday night until Reese finished her solo.
Day 12
We watched the College Football Championship with Aidan and Aunt B. How cute are these two putting their hands over their hearts during the National Anthem? Granted, Reese was a little off, but still cute.
Day 13
Ok, so I missed a few days. This was technically taken on Sunday, but I needed a place holder. It's not even that good of a picture, but it does have some cute babies. It also shows the car that everyone wants all at once when we're at Mimi's. :-)
Day 14
Completely missed Wednesday, so here's a cute video from the week before.
Day 15
This picture was stolen from my sister's blog, but that's what you get for posting Pic A Day posts on time. While Husbandy and I were teaching a NFP class, Aidan and Reese were having their own fun in our bedroom. Easter grass can seriously be a lot of fun, but it also makes a pretty big mess.
Day 16
Off we go to FL! Yes, we were just there in December. But, this time we were going to surprise Husbandy's dad for his birthday. We were picked up by Husbandy's sister, mom, and our niece (who knew we were coming) and then surprised Husbandy's dad when he got home from work. Husbandy and I hid in a back room while Reese played with Evalyn in the living room. When Husbandy's dad arrived he just kinda starred until it kicked in that Reese was in FL! We told him we surprised everyone and came as a late birthday present.
Day 17
I didn't get any pictures at the party, but the real reason we were in FL was that Husbandy's mom and sister were throwing his dad a surprise party. This may get a little long, but, here's how it went down. That morning Husbandy's mom went to get her hair done (ie help set up for the party), while she was away Husbandy and I realized she took the car with the Reese's car seat, which was the car I was supposed to later take to run to the store with Reese (actually go to the party). We frantically called his mom and created a plan to get Husbandy and his dad out of the house, so Reese and I could be picked up. We got them out of the house, were picked up, moved the van (so that when Husbandy and his dad returned I wasn't gone with the van still there), and I let Husbandy know we were no longer at the house. He then told his dad that I had gone to the store with Reese, but his dad remembered that the van didn't have the car seat in there! We were going to tell him it was moved that morning before his mom left, but he had actually driven the van earlier that morning to go to the store. SO Husbandy had to make up some crazy story that went a little like this "well she just went a block down the road, so she probably just strapped Reese in" and he bought it! When Husbandy told me that was his story I was like what?? I would never do that!!! Either way everyone was at the party waiting on the guest of honor. To get him there, a phone call was made saying "Ronnie! My water heater broke and there is water everywhere! Please come help!" Husbandy said they flew to car and raced down the road to the house. Mr Wagner came in looking for the water all over the floor and instead found family and friends yelling, surprise!!!
I love how I said I'd be doing another round of a year in photos and haven't even posted anything yet. 2015 is proving to be a crazy year already! I've included a couple of extra days on this post since I want to begin my weeks on Sunday. Here's what we're up to!
Day 1
We started the year off with a rainy day. What better way to spend it than coloring while lying on mommy's leg? Beats me.
Day 2
Mafia! Due to crazy schedules and, well, having babies added to the mix, we only got to play Mafia once this year. It was so fun! Thank you to my mom who babysat well into the wee hours of the morning. And just for the record I was indeed Mafia while this picture was taken (along with numbers 2, 4, and 12) and we won!
Day 3
Husbandy has a huge demonstration due at the end of February which requires a lot of sticky tab thingys as placeholders in a large book (that all made sense, right?). Reese has found a better use for them, however.
Day 4
Reese has found a new love for putting on mommy's shoes. Please ignore the large amount of clothing on the floor in this picture. Laundry, anyone??
Day 5
Cousin playtime in the cabinet!
Day 6
While Husbandy is working on his demonstration, he wears these noise cancelling headphones. Reese also loves wearing them and it's pretty dang cute.
Day 7
Mommy's work week was a long one. Wednesday night ended up requiring dinner out and a beer.
Day 8
So. much. to do. So. little. time.
Day 9
After a crazy crazy crazy day (Reese decided to get sick, so Husbandy and I had to split the day taking care of her. Which made the situation above pretty terrible) and the Dr confirming Reese didn't have the flu or anything terrible, we ended up dancing to Shake It Off with Annabelle. Thank goodness for sweet friends!
Day 10
Reese loves carrying these lunch boxes (bags) around. This picture makes me a little nervous when I think about future shopping trips with her.
Yall. My little girl is 18 months! I know I say this every time I write a post, but I can’t believe it. Her little personality is really shining through these days. Sometimes I think wow, she has the sweetest spirit, other times my thoughts are more, oh wow she’s going to have an attitude, and sometimes everything I do is wrong. Husbandy says the sass comes from my sister and I, but I can’t believe it. :)
Here are a few stats from her 18 month appointment:
She weighs 21 lbs 12.5 oz, which put her in the 25th – 50th percentile (again, I don’t like the large ranges this Dr provides) and 30.25” tall, which puts her in the 10th – 25th percentile. She can still wear size three diapers, but we are phasing them out. She is also mostly wearing 18 month clothing and size 4 shoes. Tons of teeth popped through since my last update which did not go very well (see below).
Favorites
Book: Reese still loves sitting and reading books. I’m not sure that I can pick out an exact favorite. There was one night that we read The Going to Bed Book I don’t know how many times. This one is definitely not my favorite, but Reese likes it. :) Mostly this book doesn't make sense to me. It’s about a bunch of animals going to bed on a ship. They all go down below and take baths, put on pjs, brush their teeth…ok this makes sense. But then they go up on the deck to exercise. I’m sorry….but I don’t get that. Why would they do that after taking a bath?? Then, they go to sleep. Give me another book to read, like On the Night You Were Born. :P
Toy: Her babies and stroller. She’ll take them all over the house. She also still loves her car Aunt Amanda got her for her birthday.
Activity/Game: Reese has become really good at putting shapes into their correct holes on various toys. This makes mommy so proud! I think back to when she first got the toys and had no idea how to put a shape into its correct hole. It really is amazing. Reese also loooves drawing. Anytime she sees a pen/pencil/crayon she wants it. I’m actually impressed with how she’s holding these things already. She still kinda switches between her right and left hand, but I think she favors her right. I’m being conscious to not sway her one way, but I’m really hoping for the right. It’s just easier, things are always made for right handed people! Lastly, Reese loves one of our cabinets that I purposely didn't fill with anything. She plays this game a lot:
Food: Reese still loves fruit. She eats at least one banana a day and never turns down grapes/melon/strawberries.
Things I don’t want to forget, in random order
1. We've been using the humidifier lately since the heater is on. When Reese wakes up in the morning, she looks at it and says “Bubbles!”
2. We’re trying to teach Reese different facial expressions. The only one she knows really well so far is how to smile. Annnnd, it’s adorable!
3. Reese started to get her 1 year molars mid October. It was unlike anything we had been through! She stopped eating well, which was my first tip off, but then she started pooping way more than she usually does! Pretty much every time we changed her diaper she had poop. (Sorry that I’m sharing all this, but it’s something I need to remember for Baby W #2….who is not actually on their way yet.) Not only were they more frequent, but they were softer than normal. Not runny, like a stomach bug, just softer. She never had a fever, but she did start to get a little fussy. Day care made me pick her up one day out of fear it was the stomach bug, which was a little annoying because, well, it wasn’t. I called the nurse who didn’t sound worried, then I texted with a friend whose boys had trouble with teething. They had all the same symptoms! Either way, it lasted a little over a week and both Husbandy and I were glad when it was over. Hopefully 2 year molars don’t have the same side effect!
4. Reese started a new daycare on November 3rd. I knew the transition wasn’t going to be easy, but I don’t think I was fully prepared!! The first week was really tough. Every day she came how with the same report….she didn’t eat, took a 15 minute nap, and cried a lot. L It was really hard on me, especially since I came home to a hungry, cranky baby. Gradually things got better as she became comfortable with a few teachers! It took about a month for good reports to come consistently. We also had a few setbacks when we had long weekends for Thanksgiving and Christmas.
5. It was during this time Reese became very attached to her blanket and lovey. She calls them her babies, which sometimes gets confusing.
6. Reese loves Mickey Mouse! The hot dog dance is a favorite and will run into the living room when she hears it come on. For Christmas Mimi Wagner got her a Mickey that sings the hot dog song which is a big hit.
7. She also loves “Let it Go.” I have no idea where she first heard it, I can only guess daycare. It doesn’t help that I got the Pentatonix Christmas cd and it’s on there. Every time we’re in the car now, Reese immediately says “Go, go, go??” Which does more like "Doe, doe, doe?"
8. She recently learned to open doors, so that should be fun.
9. Reese favorite thing to do is still playing with her cousins. I think it’s also one of my favorite things to watch. Their laughs and giggles are the best!
10. Reese has the cutest face when she wants a kiss. She puckers her lips and come charging for you.
11. When you ask her “what’s your name?” she’ll now say Reese. For a while she would say mama, dada, maaaama.
12. She is very smart and will follow directions. She also love to be able to help (dishes, laundry, sweeping…).
13. She also loves playing with mommy’s makeup and putting on mommy/daddy’s shoes. The way she says shoes is also really cute.
14. Her hair. It's blonde, curly, getting long, and sometimes a mess. But, it's definitely what we most often receive a comment on.
15. Since my last updated we've done lots of fun things. I think I hit most of them in my pic a day posts. But, just so I don't forget: For Halloween Reese went as a chick. We walked to a few houses with Buzz Lightyear, but that was all (picture above). We had beautiful weather on Thanksgiving and got to play outside. Husbandy's cousin, Allen, and his wife, Sarah, also drove in from New Mexico. We had fun playing with them. In the beginning of December, we went and saw ICE at the Gaylord Texan. We had so much fun and I hope we're able to make it a yearly tradition. For Christmas we went to Florida and saw lots of Husbandy's family. Reese traveled pretty well and I'm glad we went.
You brighten our every day! You make me laugh so much with all the funny things you do and I’m amazed to see how quickly you pick up on things now.
Mommy and daddy love you to pieces, our little Reesearoo!
Yes, there are more than 7 days in my last pic a day post of 2014. But, if you go all the way back to week 1, you'll see it only had 4 days.
Day 355
Reese was pretty excited about this toy she got from Aunt Carol. She loves watch the panda swing and slide.
After Mass, we went over to eat dinner with the Fry's. I love these two. :)
Day 356
I love Christmas cards! This year we quickly ran out of thumbtacks and room on our boards.
Day 357
We decided to do our family Christmas on the night of the 23rd since we flew to Florida early Christmas Eve. Here's Reese's stocking.
And here she is opening it!
Day 358
With the hustle and bustle of flying, then driving, seeing family, and Reese not getting nap, I forgot to take a picture. This was actually Reese sleeping the night before, but I'm sure she looked like this Christmas Eve, as she was exhausted!! A few notes from the day....Reese did really well on the plane. We lucked out and had a family right behind us with a little boy and the two of them entertained each other on and off. I was hoping that Reese would sleep on the car ride from Tampa to Lakeland, but she didn't, which meant she didn't get a nap. Because of this Husbandy and I decided it would probably be best for us to go to Mass without her. This made me a little sad since her Christmas dress was super cute, and because, well, I wanted to attend as a family!
Day 359
My little angel on Christmas. :-)
Just relaxing.
Day 360
Reese and Aidan may have been in different states, but you better believe they were sending each other their love!
Reese and cousin Evalyn "swinging."
Day 361
While the weather in Dallas was 30-40, Florida was mid 70s. You bet we enjoyed that! Here we are on a little family walk.
Day 362
After a go go go go Christmas, you better believe this little one was tired. She got a little grumpy on the plane before she actually crashed on mommy. Daddy later took over so I could block the sun. I've never realized how often overhead announcements are made on plane flights until I had a sleeping baby! Thankfully she slept through them.
Day 363
Mimi Wagner bought Reese a Mickey Mouse that sings the Hot Dog song from Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. I'd say she likes it. :-)
Day 364
Reese's first experience eating soup. She loved it, but it was a little messy.
Day 365!!
My little family on New Years Eve! The Vorhees hosted a wonderful NYE Party that started early enough to come, eat, drink, party, and head home for baby bedtime. Husbandy and I were technically sleeping at midnight.
Cousin hugs!
Can you spot Liam??
I'm so very thankful for this pretty lady. For the record, she was in heels and I was in flats.
I did it! A whole year in pictures! I've decided to do it again next year as well. Not only do I think it will be fun to look back on, it's an easy way to write down what Reese is up to without having to type out a big post. That being said....I do have an 18 month post in the works.
I hope everyone had a wonderful 2014! Know that if you read this, you made my year better and I'm very thankful for you! Here's to 2015.
